International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Overview
The International Institute for Management Development (IMD), is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is a well-known institute established in the year 1990. It is also a private business school that is not under any university. The International Institute of Management Development as the result of a combination between two different and independent educational centers; the Institut pour I’Etude de Methodes de Direction de I’Enterprise or IMEDE formed in 1957 by Nestle, and International Management Institute or IMI formed in 1946 by Alcan. IMD aims at furnishing scholars with admistrative programmes in the field of business and management.

IMD Eligibility Requirements for Admission
Throughout the admissions process, IMD is interested in a holistic overview of your academic ability, career progression, achievements, leadership capacity, international outlook, integrity, drive, initiative and interpersonal skills. IMD want to know what you will contribute to the learning experience of your classmates and to the future of business and society.
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent
- Work Experience: a minimum of two years, full-time, post graduate experience, in which you can demonstrate your career progress, with three to eight years class range.
- Two Recommenders: choose people from business-related sources who know you well, have worked directly with you and who are able to highlight your professional achievements, interpersonal skills, teamwork and leadership, using IMD form.
- *GMAT/GRE: GMAT average score in the class is 680. Aiming above 630 is recommended.
- *TOEFL/IELTS: There is no minimum requirement. Ideally, we recommend 105+ on the TOEFL (IBT) or an IELTS score of 7.5. IMD TOEFL IBT Code is – C301. Contact IMD if you have doubts about the suitability of your score.

A one-page resume in English using the IMD CV template. Other formats will not be accepted.
Photo
A professional style electronic photograph with no background scenery. High resolution setting, a minimum of 150 DPI, size 150KB and JPEG format.
IMD Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of CHF 150.
Passport
A copy of your passport (picture page) that is valid throughout the entire MBA year. If you have multiple nationalities, please upload a copy of each.
